What are the exceptions to maintenance?

So-called “maintenance-free” fire dampers do not have to be serviced regularly, but are subject to monthly functional tests. The maintenance of these systems can be omitted in the following cases:

  • If the fire dampers are triggered thermoelectrically and not by a fusible link.
  • If the protective flaps have servomotors whose function can be checked by remote control.
  • When moving parts are secured by encapsulation.
  • If a functional test takes place once a month.
